About Digital People
Digital People is headquartered in Chessington Surrey, the company was founded and is headed up by Jerry Widdowson. Jerry has been involved in supplying solutions to the Printing Industry for over 20 years having held senior management positions with industry leading companies.
In early 2001 we purchased our first Digital Printing Press & set up our first printing company, the reasoning behind this was to learn how to install, operate and manage a Digital Press. We then purchased another Digital Press from another manufacturer ensuring we started to develop an understanding of the different technologies and different formats. We continued to invest heavily in hardware and software on an intensive learning curve to ensure our customers could get the best possible advice when making the decision to compliment their Litho setup with Digital.
Once our Digital Printing company was running and we had mastered producing consistently good results we set about bringing down our costs. Having set up a Digital Printing company ourselves we have the experience to help any company moving into the digital arena, we have subsequently sold off the printing company and are all the better for the knowledge gained from it helping our clients make informed choices.
In 2005 Digital People signed an agreement with HP to become official distributors for the HP Indigo 1000 series machines, this was a true reflection of our experience in supplying and maintaining re-furbished Indigo Presses. This agreement added both new & factory refurbished HP equipment to our portfolio, as well as full support from the manufacturer.
By 2006 Digital People had sold more HP 1000 series Presses than any other distributor in Europe, we now have clients coming back to us for their second and third systems. We now supply the full range of HP solutions including 3050 & 5000 Digital Presses complimented by our own Comet software solutions designed to enhance your investment.
In May, Digital People were asked by HP to compliment their own Sales and Engineering staff on stand at IPEX 2006. During the 10 days of IPEX we helped HP achieve record success. We have set up a manufacturer approved refurbishment Plant and are the leading supplier of new and refurbished Digital Printing machines in Europe, we normally have in stock a minimum of 30 machines.
